This 2017 summer season, your intrepid Boats Ibiza bloggers are reviewing some of our favourite Ibiza beach restaurants to make it a little bit easier for you to choose the right location for your ideal lunch break. It can be a tough decision! This week, guest blogger Louise Nealon checks out one of our all-time favourite Ibiza beach restaurants, Sa Trinxa.<\/p>\n

If you like your seafood served up with a side of high energy and great tunes, then palm leaf-fringed beach bar, Sa Trinxa on Ses Salines Beach may just be the perfect place for you.<\/p>\n

A local institution since 1978, this most bohemian of Ibiza beach bars shows no sign of slowing down with a beautiful yet unpretentious and welcoming crowd enjoying the atmosphere both in the restaurant and on the beach. For dress code, be guided by the Bs: bikini, board shorts and barefoot!<\/p>\n

Iconic Ibiza vibe<\/h3>\n

The diners are as appreciative of the music as the food, and it can make for a small wait as no one is keen to move on quickly but the wait (about 30 mins on average) is certainly worth it as the fun and relaxed atmosphere personifies that iconic Ibiza vibe.<\/p>\n

Serving food and drinks in both the restaurant and on the beach, the hardest working (and fastest moving) staff I have ever seen negotiate their way around the dancers with skill, smiles and often some fabulous dancing \u2013 check out their Instagram feed @satrinxaibiza for a taste.<\/p>\n

Extensive menu<\/h3>\n

The menu is extensive and caters for all food cravings \u2013 from a large range of salads and egg dishes to meats, pastas, burgers, fish, wok dishes and desserts. There is a good selection of wines, champagnes and beers, and the most popular drink choice is Sa Trinxa’s legendary jug of sangria. Coffees can be made any way you like them, and do not disappoint.<\/p>\n

On our visit, we both opted for fish as a late lunch option and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food from this relaxed, beach bar. It would delight any seasoned restaurant-goer for both taste and presentation.<\/p>\n

Perfection<\/h3>\n

I can\u2019t recommend enough the fillet steak of sea bass with basil mousse and baked potatoes (Lomo de lubina con muselina de albahaca y patatas panadera). The sea bass was grilled to perfection with a strong crisp skin covering melt-in-your-mouth flesh and topped with roe. The accompanying basil mousse was light, fluffy and subtle in flavour, enhancing the fish well.<\/p>\n

The potatoes, sliced thinly island-style, were baked with pepper giving them a delicate spice taste.<\/p>\n

Artful presentation<\/h3>\n

The fillets of hake in green sauce dish (Suprema de merluza en salsa verde) arrived decorated with a beautiful selection of seafood including prawns, squid, octopus, mussels and clams arranged artfully. While the hake was cooked perfectly, the seafood was the champion of this plate, beautifully fresh and tasty, and the subtle green sauce, more of a broth, was a delicate complement to all, a nod to heat but not too spicy.<\/p>\n

While we didn\u2019t order dessert, our table neighbours did and next time we are definitely getting their gorgeous chocolate dipped biscuits with ice-cream \u2013 I\u2019d recommend asking for multiple spoons as it’s likely that everyone will want to try!<\/p>\n

Disco lunch<\/h3>\n

The best way to describe the experience of lunch dining at Sa Trinxa is well-organised chaos with a huge injection of fun. With groups of diners in assorted sizes dancing in their seats and around their tables, it\u2019s a great place to enjoy a late disco lunch and get in the mood for that Ibiza night out.
