Weather, winds & sea conditions

The weather in Ibiza during June can be summed up in one word.

Bliss!

Hot sunshine has now arrived, with temperatures averaging out around 22C, with lows of 18C and highs of 26C (although one year the temperature gauge hit 37C!)

That hot sunshine combined with a cool breeze on a boat is a REALLY lush combo at this time of year.

We have around 14 hours of daylight & 13 of those hours are wonderfully sun-drenched. There is still a slight chance of rain (perhaps the odd, half-hearted shower) but mainly, it’s hot, sunny & super tanning weather.

Daylight arrives around 6.30am and the sun sets between 9pm-9.30pm.

The Balearic sea has warmed up considerably since May. With a temperature of 21C, getting your sun-warmed body in for a swim is a real pleasure.

Tip: The sun is now officially fierce. Take your factor 50 when you rent a boat in Ibiza in June, m’hearties! A big red nose is not a good look when out on the razz later on 😉

The best routes

During June, you can choose to go pretty much anywhere. But it’s a particularly fabulous time to explore the coast around Cala Conta, Cala Bassa & Cala Tarida to the west.

From the east, the southern route, passing by Salinas, Es Codolar, historic Sa Caleta & glamorous Cala Jondal is absolutely stunning.

Sunset by boat at Cala Conta is one our absolute favourites in June. The colours of the sea are incredible and combined with the dramatic terracotta-coloured cliffs, this route is a photographer’s dream. Golden hour in this zone is guaranteed to produce some gasps of ‘wow’ when folks see your Instagram pics!

Things to do in the sea

June in Ibiza makes for fun in the sea of every description! Have a go on a kayak, canoe or paddleboard (provided on our fleet of gorgeous Sunseeker yachts). If you’re on a speedboat, then watersports such as wakeboarding and waterskiing are often included (along with tuition). Yeh!

Swimming and snorkeling are fantastic fun too. It’s amazing to peek beneath that vibrant blue sea, full of marine life. And fear not, all of our top 10 boats come equipped with all the quality gear you’ll need.

Exploring hidden nooks and crannies (such as the aforementioned cave close to Cala Conta) that you can only reach by sea is highly recommended. Ask your captain to reveal his secrets!

Best beach restaurants to stop at for lunch

The zone around Cala Bassa, Cala Conta and Cala Tarida has a great selection of gorgeous Ibiza beach restaurants. In June, a particularly heavenly lunch is to be found at Cotton Beach Club down on Cala Tarida.

Prices are mid-range and the cuisine is Japanese influenced. The Sushi is to die for. And the view from the terrace is so beautiful it almost brings a tear to your eye. It’s essential to book in advance ladies and gents, but fear not, we’ll be happy to organize your reservation for you. Just let us know 🙂

Best beaches to visit in Ibiza & Formentera in June

1. Beautiful Cala Tarida, Ibiza – for a swanky lunch at the Cotton Beach Club
2. Gorgeous Cala Conta, Ibiza – for a Bohemian vibe, colours that would make Van Gogh gasp and an incredible ‘golden hour.’
3. Historic Sa Caleta, Ibiza – see where the ancient Carthaginians first rocked up and began the first human settlement of Ibiza circa 800BC!
4. Espalmador, sandwiched cutely between Ibiza & Formentera – you’re not allowed to disembark onto this beach with its famous mud baths – it’s a private island. But with its white powder sand and surrounded by brilliant turquoise sea – just to see it from the boat is something incredible to behold.

Stunning Ibiza sunsets from a boat in June

Ibiza sunsets have a magic quality about them at any time of year.

There are a whole heap of stunners to choose from.

But since June is now starting to get busy, we recommend getting off the beaten track and taking in sunset from one of countless secluded bays. Cala Conta’s little sister, Cala Contita, is, for example, a wonderful spot to catch the sunset in June. From there, if you’re a decent distance from the coast, you can see the mystical Es Vedra looming dramatically to the south.

Boat charter prices are affordable in June

We’re now in mid-season. So while boat rental prices have increased since May, it’s still a great time to take advantage of the lower prices available before high-season kicks in.

In fact, you can get a private sunset boat charter at this time of year for as little as €550, fully inclusive of Captain, fuel and a free bar.

It gets better.

If you sign up for newsletters or follow your favourite boat company’s social media channels, you’ll often hear about last minute special offers.

Meaning you save a big chunk of cash.
